Description

Calendars is Annie Finch’s Innovative Audio CD

To celebrate the Spring Equinox, we’re releasing the Audio CD of Annie Finch’s memorable and musical book of poetry, Calendars, first published by Tupelo in 2003 and one of our perennial bestsellers.

Calendars is the first of a series of audio books produced by Tupelo Press from our books of contemporary poetry and literary prose. The Calendars CD includes Annie Finch reading all of the poems in the book, with musical interludes played on Celtic harp with Anglo-Saxon tunings by Mac Ritchey of the ensemble 35th Parallel.

  • Introductory price for the CD alone: $12.00
  • Special offer: $20.00 book and CD combination set, available only through www.tupelopress.org
"With paradoxical economy and fine-tuned irony, Annie Finch's poems embody the seductive, treacherous — and redemptive — nature of language itself. Her poems remind us how the condition of music re-creates the condition of thought."
—Marilyn Hacker, National Book Award winner

The highly musical voice of Annie Finch brings to life her exquisite poems of love, time, sensuality, and the earth-centered spirituality of our era. Known internationally for her expertise in meter, rhyme, and poetry's sounds, Finch has given hundreds of readings across the U.S., Canada, and Europe. In this Audio CD she shares her classic collection Calendars as it was meant to be heard. If the sound of a poem is its essence, this is the quintessential version of the book Calendars.
