The 2000 First Annual Poetry Contest Judge's Prize, selected by judge Janet Holmes, has been awarded to Jennifer Michael Hecht of New York, New York for her manuscript The Next Ancient World.

The 2000 First Annual Poetry Contest Editors' Prize has been awarded to Amy England of Chicago, Illinois for her manuscript The Flute Ship Castricum and Francine Sterle of Iron, Minnesota for her manuscript Every Bird is One Bird.
