Day 31 / Cento and poem!

At the Holy Wow Moment / composed by Kimberly O’Connor

with lines from  Joanna Grant, Judit Hollos, Zach Jauptman, Brice Maiurro, Kimberly O’Connor, Michael Schad, Kashinna Singh, and Elizabeth Wolf!

Everything bloomed, everyone sneezed.
The great sky lions great you at the threshold.

Almond petals turned to ashes listening
to the dust sing a silence salted into taste.

Lost on a sinking boat no larger than a thimble,
mildew and marrow slick with fish gold,

I too, was born under a cold moon.
I’ve had to unlearn, relearn a kind of pain.

Rocks stabbed at the sky with their stony dreaming.
I felt the immensity and cried

I am the monster who kills you.
The salt you taste is your own.

Wherever the bees are, I hope it’s with god.
Just once, just once, just once,

witness me—

Nested dreams / Judit Hollos

a gembun sequence

blackberry winter

the frost-covered
gondolas of
a Ferris-wheel

a watchman’s horn

the windows
of a monastery
engulfed in roses

nested dreams

a piece
of mirage stuck
between a stork’s wings

streamed reality

refugee kids
playing home
in cardboxes

motionless clouds

a former classmate
pretends
she never knew me
